Udupi, July 28, 2025: Milagres College, Kallianpur, hosted a successful orientation program for its freshmen on July 28, 2025. The event began with a prayer song performed by Melissa Mendis and her team, creating a solemn and welcoming atmosphere.
Mrs. Shylet Mathais, IQAC Coordinator, warmly greeted the distinguished guests, new students, and their parents, setting the stage for an engaging and informative day.
In his address, Principal Dr. Vincent Alva underscored the importance of discipline, obtaining a driver’s license, and wearing helmets while riding bikes. He described the institution as driven by four key pillars—Management, Teachers, Students, and Parents—working together to ensure success. Dr. Alva also expressed appreciation for the alumni’s ongoing support and contributions to the college’s development.


The Correspondent of Milagres Institutions, Fr. Msgr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, delivered the presidential address, extending a heartfelt welcome to the freshers and their families. He emphasized the value of education and personality development, urging students to focus on both. Fr. Gonsalves thanked the students and parents for choosing Milagres College and highlighted the importance of human values alongside academic achievements, concluding with APJ Abdul Kalam’s inspiring words, “Dream Big.”
Chief Guest Mr. Gangappa S, Sub-Inspector of Malpe Police Station, spoke on critical issues such as drug abuse, cyber security, and traffic regulations. Through real-life examples, he stressed the need for vigilance and prompt action in cases of financial fraud, advising attendees to report issues by calling 1930.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Radhika Patkar from the Department of Commerce, and was adeptly compered by Mr. Ravinandan Bhat, PRO. The orientation provided an excellent opportunity for freshmen to connect with the college’s values and expectations, setting a strong foundation for their academic journey.
