Kanpur, UP: Two men in Uttar Pradesh have died following hair transplant procedures at a clinic in Kanpur, raising serious concerns about the qualifications of the practitioner involved.
Mayank Katiyar, an engineer, underwent a hair transplant on November 18 last year at a clinic reportedly run by Dr. Anushka Tiwari. Soon after the procedure, he complained of pain and swelling, and tragically died the next day.
In a similar incident, another engineer, Vineet Dubey, died on March 14 this year after undergoing the same procedure at the same clinic. Following his death, Vineet’s wife, Jaya Dubey, filed a police complaint. Authorities have now registered a case and initiated an investigation.
Family members of Mayank Katiyar have also spoken to the media, expressing shock and demanding strict action against those responsible.
According to a recent report by Amar Ujala, Dr. Anushka Tiwari, who allegedly performed both transplants, holds a dental degree, not a specialization in cosmetic or dermatological surgery — a revelation that has further intensified scrutiny of the clinic’s operations.
Police are currently probing the qualifications of the doctor and whether proper medical protocols were followed in both cases.
