Kundapur, June 13, 2025: Highlighting the dangers of drug abuse among children and adolescents, Sub-Inspector Nanja Naik of Kundapur Police Station emphasized that young individuals, due to their impressionable age and lack of decision-making maturity, are highly vulnerable to addictions such as substance abuse. Speaking at an awareness workshop organized by Namma Nada Okkoota Community Center, Kundapur, he noted that drug consumption impairs brain function, severely impacts health, and in some cases, can lead to tragic outcomes like suicide.
The event, held on Thursday at the Mini Auditorium of Namma Nada Okkoota Community Center, combined a felicitation ceremony with an informative session on the adverse effects of drug abuse. The workshop aimed to educate the community about the growing issue of substance abuse among youth.
Mou. Zameer Ahmad Rashadi, General Secretary of the Namma Nada Okkoota Central Committee, delivered a contextual address. The program was chaired by Abdul Munaf Hangarakatte, President of the Namma Nada Okkoota Community Center, Kundapur.
During the event, scholarships were distributed to 40 students pursuing high school, college, and higher education. Additionally, Ilhan Javed was honored for securing gold and bronze medals in a karate competition. Sub-Inspector Nanja Naik was also felicitated for his contributions.
The event was attended by key members of the Namma Nada Okkoota Community Center, including Treasurer S. Anwar Kandluru, program coordinators G. Mohammad Gulvadi, Mansoor Ibrahim, Nihar Ahmad, and others. Hussein Haikady, General Secretary of the Community Center, welcomed the attendees and anchored the program.
