  • Shankarnarayana: Eight Arrested in Cockfighting and Gambling Raid; Assets Worth 43 Lac Seized

    Shankarnarayana, August 23, 2025 – On August 22, 2025, at 5:00 PM, Shankarnarayana police conducted a raid in Mabbli, Belanje village, Hebri taluk, arresting eight individuals engaged in illegal cockfighting and gambling. The accused, identified as Rohit Shetty, Charan Raj, Dinesh Rao, Arjun, Manjunath, Prashanth, Dayanand Poojari, and Santosh Shetty, were caught tying knives to roosters’ legs and betting money on the fights. The operation, led by PSI Shambhulingayya M. based on credible intelligence, was conducted in the presence of panch witnesses.

    The police seized 30 roosters (valued at ₹1,000 each, totaling ₹30,000), 10 cockfighting knives, 26 sacks for holding roosters, and ₹10,630 in cash used for betting. Additionally, six mobile phones (three Vivo and three Redmi, valued at ₹60,000) were confiscated from the accused. Vehicles abandoned at the scene by fleeing participants included 28 motorcycles, four cars, one Omni van, one EcoSport, one Bolero Jeep, and one auto-rickshaw, collectively valued at approximately ₹43,45,630. A list of 44 additional vehicles linked to fleeing individuals was recorded for further investigation.

    A case was registered at Shankarnarayana Police Station under Crime No. 78/2025, invoking Section 11(1)(a) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, for causing unnecessary pain to animals (punishable by up to three months imprisonment or a ₹100 fine for first offenses), and Sections 87 and 93 of the Karnataka Police Act, 1963, for gambling in a public place (punishable by up to one month imprisonment or a ₹300 fine). The police are investigating to identify and apprehend additional suspects who fled the scene.

  • Shankaranarayana: Four Arrested for Cattle Theft, Case Registered

    Shankaranarayana, August 22, 2025 – Shankaranarayana police arrested four individuals on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 6:00 AM for allegedly stealing five male buffaloes and three female buffaloes from Haveri and transporting them without permits for slaughter and sale in Mangaluru. The accused, identified as Shantesh Chandrappa Javalli, Hinayat Nasipudi, Sunil Lakmappa Javalli, and Arun Chandrappa Javalli, were intercepted near Shankaranarayana Junction on the Shankaranarayana-Haladi road in Kundapur taluk.

    Acting on a tip-off, Sub-Inspector Gaddekar, along with police personnel and witnesses, stopped a white Mahindra Bolero Max (KA68-6605) carrying the stolen livestock. The animals, estimated to be three and four years old, had a combined value of approximately ₹80,000 (₹50,000 for the buffaloes and ₹30,000 for the cows). The vehicle, valued at around ₹8,00,000, and three mobile phones (two Oppo and one Redmi, each worth approximately ₹10,000) were seized. The accused admitted to planning to slaughter the animals and sell the meat, as instructed by Arun Chandrappa Javalli.

    A case has been registered at Shankaranarayana Police Station under Crime No. 77/2025, invoking Sections 4, 5, 7, and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 1964, Section 11(1)(d) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, Section 66 read with Section 192(A) of the Indian Motor Vehicles Act, and Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

  • Kundapur: Maruti Car Collides with Bolero Pickup on Haladi-Bidkal Katte State Road, Injuring Workers

    Kundapur, August 18, 2025 – A severe accident occurred around 3:00 PM today on the Haladi-Bidkal Katte state road near Bajaj Motor Service in Haladi, Kundapur taluk, Udupi district. A Maruti S-Cross car, driven by youths from Shirala Koppa, Shivamogga district, collided with a Bolero pickup goods vehicle, causing serious injuries to laborers standing at the rear of the pickup. The car was reportedly returning from Shri Brahmalingeshwara Temple in Maranakatte when the high-speed collision occurred.

    Preliminary reports suggest the three youths in the Maruti S-Cross were under the influence of alcohol and driving recklessly, leading to the crash with the oncoming Bolero pickup. The impact caused severe injuries to the laborers, who were immediately rushed to Kundapur Government Hospital for treatment.

    Sub-Inspector Hiregowda from Shankar Narayana Police Station visited the site and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered at the Shankar Narayana Police Station, and further details are awaited as the investigation continues.

  • Amasebailu: Police Raid Gambling Den, 10 Arrested

    Amasebailu, August 17, 2025 – Acting on a tip-off, Amasebailu police, under the leadership of PSI Ashok Kumar, conducted a raid on August 15, 2025, at 5:00 PM in a public shed near Gopal Poojari’s residence in Kela Salamakki, Amasebailu village. The operation targeted an illegal gambling activity where 10 individuals were caught playing the card game “Andar-Bahar” for money on a plastic sheet.

    ಕುಂದಾಪುರ, ಜುಲೈ 15, 2025: ಕುಂದಾಪುರ-ಕೋಟೇಶ್ವರ-ಬಿದ್ಕಲ್‌ಕಟ್ಟೆ-ಹಾಲಾಡಿ-ಅಮಾಸೆಬೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಂಬಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಅನುಕೂಲಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಬಸ್ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಇಂದಿನಿಂದ ಪುನರಾರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

    ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣ: ಮದುವೆಯಾಗುವುದಾಗಿ ನಂಬಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಕರ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಯುವತಿ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆಗೆ ಯತ್ನಿಸಿರುವ ಘಟನೆ ಕುಂದಾಫುರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಪುರ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.
    ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆಗೆ ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ ಯುವತಿಯನ್ನು ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಪುರ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಅನುಷಾ(23) ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
    ಅನುಷಾ ಅವರ ಅಣ್ಣ ಅರುಣ ಎನ್ನುವವರ ಪಿಕಪ್‌ ವಾಹನಕ್ಕೆ ಸುಮಾರು ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳ ಡ್ರೈವರ್‌ ಆಗಿ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಹಳ್ಳಿಹೊಳೆಯ ಭರತ್‌ ಎಂಬಾತ ಅನುಷಾಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಬಲೆಗೆ ಬೀಳಿಸಿದ್ದ. ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ಅನುಷಾಳ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅನುಷಾಳ ಬಳಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಆತನು ತನ್ನನ್ನ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗುವುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಆಕೆ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಯವಳು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೂ ಕೂಡ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಆತ, ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಅನುಷಾಳನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಾಪುರದಿಂದ ಆತನ ಬೈಕ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾರೆಕೊಡ್ಲು ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
    ಭರತ್‌ ನ ಬಳಿ ಮದುವೆ ವಿಚಾರ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸಿದಾಗ ಆತ ತಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮದುವೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಮನನೊಂದ ಯುವತಿ ಇಲಿ ಪಾಷಾಣವನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿದ್ದು,ಕೂಡಲೇ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಕುಂದಾಪುರದ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದೀಗ ಯುವತಿ ಐಸಿಯುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅನುಷಾ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದವಳು ಎನ್ನುವ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಭರತ್‌ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗುವುದಾಗಿ ನಂಬಿಸಿ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ.

    ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣ, ಜೂನ್ 8, 2025: ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಕುಳುಂಜೆ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಭರತಕಲ್ಲು ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರಿನ ಶುದ್ಧೀಕರಣ ಘಟಕದ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ದಿನಾಂಕ 06/06/2025ರಂದು ಸಂಜೆ 7:15 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ, ಪಿರ್ಯಾದಿದಾರರಾದ ಸಮರ್ ಮಾಲ್ (24, ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳ) ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಮಾಲ್ ರವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ದುರ್ಘಟನೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದೆ.

    ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಮಾಲ್ ರವರು ಶುದ್ಧೀಕರಣ ಘಟಕದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಬದಿಯ ಸಿಮೆಂಟ್ ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಳಕಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹ್ಯಾಲೊಜನ್ ಲೈಟ್‌ಗೆ ಆಕಸ್ಮಿಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿಸಿದಾಗ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಶಾಕ್‌ಗೆ ಒಳಗಾದರು. ಕೂಡಲೇ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಕಡಿತಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಆದರೆ, ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಮಾಲ್ ಲೈಟ್ ಕಂಬದ ಬಳಿ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು. ಪಿರ್ಯಾದಿದಾರರು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿ, ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಕಡಿತಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಖಾತ್ರಿಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಮಾಲ್‌ರವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆತಂದು ಪ್ರಥಮ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

    ಘಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಸೈಟ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ನಾಗರಾಜ್ ರವರ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತರಲಾಯಿತು. ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಮಾಲ್‌ರವರನ್ನು ಕಂಪನಿಯ ವಾಹನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಲಾಡಿಯ ಶ್ರೀ ದುರ್ಗಾ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಕರೆತರಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ವೈದ್ಯರು ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಮಾಲ್‌ರವರನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಸಂಜೆ 7:30 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಅವರು ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

    ದೂರಿನ ಪಿರ್ಯಾದಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಸುರಕ್ಷತಾ ಸಲಕರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸದೆ, ಅಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಕಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ತಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳಕಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ರಾಜೇಶ್ ಮಾಲ್ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿಸಿದಾಗ ಕಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಪ್ರವಹಿಸಿ, ಆತನಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಶಾಕ್‌ಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡು, ಆ ಗಾಯದಿಂದ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಘಟನೆಗೆ ಸೈಟ್ ಇನ್‌ಚಾರ್ಜ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ನಾಗರಾಜ್ ರವರ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯವೇ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದು ದೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

    ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ಕ್ರಮಾಂಕ 55/2025, ಕಲಂ 106 BNS ರಂತೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ.

    ಉಡುಪಿ, ಜೂನ್ 4, 2025: ಮುಂಬರುವ ಬಕ್ರೀದ್ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ವಿವಿಧ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಗಳಾದ ಕೊಲ್ಲೂರು, ಅಮಾಸೆಬೈಲು, ಶಿರ್ವ, ಮತ್ತು ಮಣಿಪಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮುಖಂಡರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಸಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಸಭೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮರಸ್ಯ, ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಕಾನೂನು ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದಂತೆ ಬಕ್ರೀದ್ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮುಖಂಡರಿಗೆ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.

    ಅಮಾಸೆಬೈಲು: ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಕ್ರೀದ್ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮುಖಂಡರನ್ನು ಠಾಣೆಗೆ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯಿಂದ ಕಾನೂನು ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದಂತೆ ಆಚರಣೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

    ಕಾರ್ಕಳ: ಗ್ರಾಮಾಂತರ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಕಳ ನಗರ ಠಾಣಾ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಬಕ್ರೀದ್ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮುಖಂಡರನ್ನು ಠಾಣೆಗೆ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯಿಂದ ಕಾನೂನು ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದಂತೆ ಆಚರಣೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು

    ಮಣಿಪಾಲ: ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಕ್ರೀದ್ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮುಖಂಡರನ್ನು ಠಾಣೆಗೆ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದತೆಯಿಂದ ಕಾನೂನು ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದಂತೆ ಆಚರಣೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

  • ಕುಂದಾಪುರ: ಏಣಿಯಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದು ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಸಾವು

    ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಹಾಲಾಡಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಚೋರಾಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದುರ್ಘಟನೆಯೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರೊಬ್ಬರು ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ ಘಟನೆ ದಿನಾಂಕ 30-05-2025ರಂದು ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಬಿಹಾರ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾದ ಎಂ.ಡಿ. ಇಸ್ರೈಲ್ (37) ಎಂಬುವವರು ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

    ದೂರಿನ ವಿವರಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಚೋರಾಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದ 2-3 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಎಸ್‌ಎನ್‌ಸಿ ಕಂಪನಿಯ ವಾಟರ್ ಸಪ್ಲೈ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೂರುದಾರರ ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿ ಸಫರಾಜ್ ಆಲಂ ಎಂಬ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಘಟನೆಯ ದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 9:30ರ ಸುಮಾರಿಗೆ ಸಫರಾಜ್ ಆಲಂ ಅವರು 6 ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರದ ಏಣಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತು ಫಿಲ್ಟರ್ ಹೌಸ್‌ನ ಗೋಡೆಯ ಲಿಕೇಜ್ ಪ್ಯಾಚ್ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಆಯತಪ್ಪಿ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

    ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರ ಕೆಲಸಗಾರರು ಸೇರಿ ಸಫರಾಜ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಂತರ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಾಹನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಲಾಡಿಯ ದುರ್ಗಾ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ದಾಗ, ವೈದ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಸಫರಾಜ್ ಆಲಂ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

    ಈ ಘಟನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುಡಿಆರ್ ಕ್ರಮಾಂಕ 21/2025ರ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಂ 194 BNSS ರಂತೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪೊಲೀಸರು ತನಿಖೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

  • ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣ; ಅಕ್ರಮ ಗೋವಧೆ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ದನ ಕಳ್ಳತನ: ಇಬ್ಬರು ಆರೋಪಿಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರಕರಣ

    ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣ, ಮೇ 30, 2025: ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣದ ಸಿದ್ದಾಪುರ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಕೆಳಪೇಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ದನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪಡೆದ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿ, ಗೋವಧೆಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕಳ್ಳತನದ ದನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಹಾಕಿದ್ದ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಆರೋಪಿಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಘಟನೆ ಮೇ 29, 2025ರ ಸಂಜೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

    ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಉಪನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕರಾದ (ತನಿಖೆ) ಶಂಭುಲಿಂಗಯ್ಯ ಎಮ್.ಇ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಿದ್ದಾಪುರ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಕೆಳಪೇಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ರಮ ಗೋವಧೆಗಾಗಿ ದನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ತಕ್ಷಣ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಪೊಲೀಸರು, ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಸು ಕೆಂಪು ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಳಿ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಗಂಡು ದನ-1, ಬಿಳಿ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಗಂಡು ದನ-1, ಕಪ್ಪು ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಳಿ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಗಂಡು ದನ-1, ಹಾಗೂ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ನಸು ಕೆಂಪು ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಳಿ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಗಂಡು ದನ-1 ಒಟ್ಟು ನಾಲ್ಕು ದನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ದನಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಪರವಾನಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಕಳ್ಳತನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ಮೇವು ಮತ್ತು ನೀರು ನೀಡದೆ ಹಿಂಸಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಹಾಕಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

    ಆರೋಪಿಗಳಾದ ರವಿಚಂದ್ರನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಆತನ ಅಣ್ಣ ನಾಗರಾಜ್ ಈ ದನಗಳನ್ನು ವಧೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಗಿರಾಕಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟಿಹಾಕಿದ್ದರು ಎಂದು ತನಿಖೆಯಿಂದ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಶಂಕರನಾರಾಯಣ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ಕ್ರಮಾಂಕ 54/2025ರ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಗೋವಧೆ ನಿಷೇಧ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ಕಲಂ 4, 5, 7, 12, ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಹಿಂಸೆ ತಡೆ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ 1960ರ ಕಲಂ 11(1)(ಡಿ), ಹಾಗೂ BNS ಕಲಂ 112, 303(2) ರಂತೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ.
