  • ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ: ಆನ್‌ಲೈನ್ ವಂಚನೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ – 1.47 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ. ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಘಟನೆ

    ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ, ಜೂನ್ 01, 2025: ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಉಪ್ಪೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದ 40 ವರ್ಷದ ಯೋಗೇಶ್ ಎಂಬುವರು ಆನ್‌ಲೈನ್ ವಂಚನೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ 1,47,692 ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

    ದಿನಾಂಕ 23.05.2025ರಂದು ಸಂಜೆ 4:16 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಅಪರಿಚಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಯೋಗೇಶ್ ಅವರ ಮೊಬೈಲ್‌ಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಸಂದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ವೆಬ್‌ಸೈಟ್ ಲಿಂಕ್‌ ಮೂಲಕ ಕ್ರಿಪ್ಟೋ ಕರೆನ್ಸಿ ಟ್ರೇಡಿಂಗ್‌ಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಪರದೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಲಿಂಕ್‌ಗೆ ಲಾಗಿನ್‌ ಆದ ಯೋಗೇಶ್, ಆರೋಪಿತರ ಸೂಚನೆಯಂತೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಆಧಾರ್ ಕಾರ್ಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಖಾತೆ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ವೆಬ್‌ಸೈಟ್‌ಗೆ ಅಪ್‌ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

    ನಂತರ, ಆರೋಪಿತರ ಸೂಚನೆಯಂತೆ ದಿನಾಂಕ 23.05.2025ರಂದು 5,000 ರೂ. ಮತ್ತು 26.05.2025ರಂದು 25,800 ರೂ. ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ, ವಿವಿಧ ದಿನಾಂಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 1,47,692 ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆನ್‌ಲೈನ್ ಮೂಲಕ ವರ್ಗಾವಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಆರೋಪಿತರು ಯೋಗೇಶ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಂಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ.

    ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ಕ್ರಮಾಂಕ 122/2025ರ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಐಟಿ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ಕಲಂ 66(C) ಮತ್ತು 66(D) ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ಅಪರಿಚಿತ ಲಿಂಕ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಲಿಕ್ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಅಥವಾ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ವಹಿಸುವಂತೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

    ಉಡುಪಿ: ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುದೀರ್ಘ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಇಂದು (ಮೇ 31, 2025) ವಯೋನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಬೈಂದೂರು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಎಎಸ್‌ಐ ಶ್ರೀ ತನಿಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ನಗರ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಎಎಸ್‌ಐ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ರವರನ್ನು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಕಚೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಜೀವನ ಸುಖಕರವಾಗಿರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಲಾಯಿತು.

  • Career Guidance & Achievers Felicitation Ceremony 2025 by NNO Concludes Successfully

    Udupi, 31 May, 2025: Namma Nada Okkoota Udupi District organized the Career Guidance and Achievers Felicitation Ceremony on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Mother Palace Sabha Bhavan in Brahmavara.

    The chief guests included former Minister Jayaprakash Hegde, Moulana U.K. Mustafa Saadi, Principal Manager of Al Ihsaan Group of Educational Institutions in Mulloor, and Mohammad Moula, President of Udupi District Muslim Okkoota, who addressed the gathering. The event was presided over by Mushtaq Ahmed Belve, President of the Okkoota.

    During the occasion, 191 students from the Muslim community who scored above 90% in the SSLC and PUC exams this year, along with students who secured state and district ranks, were felicitated. Additionally, the heads of schools from the Udupi district Muslim community that achieved 100% results were congratulated.

    Twelve Ulemas who have served as Imams in the same mosque for over 20 years were honored. Achievers such as Muaz Mohammad (Digital Marketer, Avedis Infosystem, Udupi), Fathima Muskaan (Staff, NNO Community Center, Kundapur), and Sheikh Mohammad Farman were also felicitated.

    The event saw the presence of Okkoota Treasurer Peeru Saheb, District General Secretary Zaheer Nakhuda Gangolli, District Treasurer Nakwa Yahya Malpe, Udupi Taluk President Nazeer Nejar, Kundapur Taluk President S. Dasthagir Kandlur, Brahmavar Taluk President Tajuddin Ibrahim, Kapu Taluk President Ashraf Padubidri, Karkala Taluk President Shakir Hussein Shisha, and Hebri Taluk President Mohammad Rafique Ajeekar.

    Okkoota Organizational Secretary Hussain Haikadi welcomed the gathering, while Program Convener Moulana Zameer Ahmed Rashdi gave the introductory speech. Tajuddin Ibrahim, Brahmavar Taluk President concluded the event with the vote of thanks. Fazal Neralkatte compered the program.

    Prior to this, educational guide Master Rafeek Mangalore, Advocate Suhan Sastan, and Dr. Irfan Ahmed, Medical Director of Malnad Lifeline Hospital Shivamogga, provided career guidance.

    ಉಡುಪಿ, ಮೇ 30, 2025: ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕೇಂದ್ರೋದ್ಯಮಗಳು, ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ಗಳು, ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಕಚೇರಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಸತಿ ಸಮುಚ್ಚಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡೇತರರು, ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷಿಕರಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿಸುವ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಆಸಕ್ತರು ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ನೋಂದಾಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ.

    ಉಡುಪಿ: ತಮಿಳಿನಿಂದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ಅನ್ನೋ ವಿವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ನಟ ಕಮಲ್ ಹಾಸನ್ ಅವರು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಕೆಂಗಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಳೆದ 2 ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ಕಮಲ್ ಹಾಸನ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯಾಚಿಸಲು ಪಟ್ಟು ಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

    ಉಡುಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ವೇದಿಕೆ ನಾರಾಯಣ ಗೌಡ ಬಣದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ನಗರದ ಅಜ್ಜರಕಾಡಿನ ಹುತಾತ್ಮರ ಸ್ಮಾರಕದ ಮುಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿದ್ದ ಕರವೇ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಕಮಲ್ ಹಾಸನ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ದಿಕ್ಕಾರ ಕೂಗಿದರು. ಕಮಲ್ ಹಾಸನ್ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯಾಚಿಸಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವರು ನಟಿಸಿರುವ “ಥಗ್ ಲೈಫ್” ಸಿನಿಮಾವನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

    ಕರವೇ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ತಮಿಳು ನಟ ಕಮಲ್ ಹಾಸನ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವಹೇಳಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಖಂಡನೀಯ. ಈ ಆಧಾರರಹಿತ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಇತಿಹಾಸ, ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಆಘಾತವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಂದ ತೀವ್ರ ಖಂಡನೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿರೋಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾದರೂ, ಕಮಲ್ ಹಾಸನ್ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಪ್ಪನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಕ್ಷಮೆಯಾಚಿಸದೆ ಉದ್ಧಟತನ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ‌ ಎಂದು ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

    ಕಮಲ್ ಹಾಸನ್ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯಾಚಿಸಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಜೂನ್ 5ರಂದು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಸಿದ್ದವಾಗಿರುವ ಅವರ “ತಗ್ ಲೈಫ್’ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ವಿತರಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹೂಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

  • Udupi Theft Case: Karnataka High Court Acquits Reshma Hegde

    Bengaluru, May 30, 2025: The Karnataka High Court has acquitted Reshma Hegde in a 2011 theft case from Udupi, overturning the convictions of lower courts. Justice S. Rachaiah delivered the verdict on May 22, 2025, setting aside the earlier judgments that had found her guilty of housebreaking and theft.

    Reshma Hegde (32), a resident of Vinanthi House, Lakshmindra Nagar, Shivalli Village, Udupi, was accused of breaking into a house and stealing gold ornaments weighing approximately 20½ pauns on May 1, 2011, at around 1:30 p.m. The prosecution alleged that Hegde, along with another accused, broke the lock of the complainants’ house while they were away and committed the theft. A case was registered by the Kaup Circle Police under Crime No. 66/2011, charging the accused under Sections 454 (housebreaking) and 380 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), followed by the submission of a charge sheet.

    The Principal Civil Judge and JMFC, Karkala, convicted Hegde on November 10, 2016, in C.C. No. 437/2011. This judgment was upheld by the Principal Sessions Judge, Udupi, on April 26, 2018, in Criminal Appeal No. 74/2016. Challenging these concurrent findings, Hegde filed a Criminal Revision Petition (No. 704/2018) in the Karnataka High Court.

    During the hearing, Hegde’s counsel, Nishit Kumar Shetty, argued that the lower courts’ findings were flawed. He contended that the recovery of the stolen items, allegedly made under Section 27 of the Indian Evidence Act, was not properly conducted and did not establish Hegde’s exclusive possession. Additionally, he claimed that documents produced by the manager of Bhima Jewellers were fabricated. The prosecution’s case stated that gold ornaments were stolen, but the recovered items were in the form of gold ingots, casting doubt on their identity.

    The State’s counsel, K. Nageshwarappa, defended the lower courts’ rulings, citing the testimonies of prosecution witnesses (PWs 1, 2, 4, and 6) and documents (Exs. P.13 to P.16) from Bhima Jewellers, which indicated that the accused had sold the stolen gold and purchased new ornaments. However, the court noted that the manager of Bhima Jewellers (PW.6) stated the gold was recovered as ingots, not ornaments, raising doubts about the evidence’s reliability.

    Justice S. Rachaiah observed that the testimony of PW.6 lacked credibility and that the recovery of gold ingots was insufficient to prove Hegde’s guilt. The lower courts had erred in evaluating the evidence, leading to an incorrect conviction. Consequently, the High Court allowed the petition, set aside the convictions dated November 10, 2016, and April 26, 2018, and acquitted Hegde of the charges under IPC Sections 454 and 380. Any bail bonds executed were also canceled.

    ಕೋಟ, ಮೇ 30, 2025: ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ 66ರ ಬಾಳ್ಕುದ್ರು ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಮಾಬುಕಳ ಸೇತುವೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸ್ಕೂಟರ್‌ಗೆ ಕಾರು ಡಿಕ್ಕಿ ಹೊಡೆದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ತಂದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡ ದುರ್ಘಟನೆ ಮೇ 27, 2025ರಂದು ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 10:30ರ ಸುಮಾರಿಗೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

    ಆರೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಚಂದ್ರಕಾಂತ (46) ಎಂಬವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ರಜೆ ಪಡೆದು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ವಿಹಾನ್ (11) ಮತ್ತು ಲಿಹಾನ್ (6) ರವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಜುಪಿಟರ್ ಸ್ಕೂಟಿ (KA-20-EQ-1961)ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರದಿಂದ ಸಾಲಿಗ್ರಾಮ ಕಡೆಗೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ 66ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ವೇಳೆ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾರೊಂದು ಅತಿವೇಗ ಮತ್ತು ಅಜಾಗರೂಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಚಲಾಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಸ್ಕೂಟಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದ ಡಿಕ್ಕಿ ಹೊಡೆದಿದೆ. ಈ ಘಟನೆಯಿಂದ ಚಂದ್ರಕಾಂತ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ರಸ್ತೆಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಗಂಭೀರ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

    ಚಂದ್ರಕಾಂತ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಎಡಗೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಂಸ ಹೊರಬಂದು ಮೂಳೆ ಮುರಿತವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎದೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಯಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. ಮಗು ವಿಹಾನ್‌ಗೆ ತೊಡೆ, ಕಾಲು ಮತ್ತು ಕೈಗೆ ಗಾಯಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಲಿಹಾನ್‌ಗೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಗೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಗಾಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಪಘಾತದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಜನರು ಮತ್ತು ಚಂದ್ರಕಾಂತ ಅವರ ಪರಿಚಯದ ವೆಡಿಯಪ್ಪ ಎಂಬವರು ಗಾಯಾಳುಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರದ ಮಹೇಶ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಂತರ, ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಗಾಯಾಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಣಿಪಾಲದ ಕೆಎಂಸಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

    ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ, ಚಂದ್ರಕಾಂತ ಅವರು ತೀವ್ರ ಗಾಯಗಳಿಂದ ಐಸಿಯುನಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದೇ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಚಯದ ವೆಡಿಯಪ್ಪ ಎಂಬವರು ಕೆಲಸದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ತೆರಳಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲು ವಿಳಂಬವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಘಟನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೋಟ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ಕ್ರಮಾಂಕ 106/2025ರ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಂ 281, 125(a), 125(b) BNS ರಂತೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ.
