  • Bhatkal: Two Arrested in Attempted Kidnapping of Minor Girl, Rescued Within Hours

    Bhatkal, August 16, 2025 – In a swift operation, Bhatkal Rural Police arrested two individuals on August 13, 2025, for attempting to kidnap a minor girl from Hanifabad 1st Cross in Bhatkal. The accused, identified as Asif Jamalasab from Shivapura, Haveri district, and Mohammad Mosin from Jali Taggargod, Bhatkal, tried to forcibly abduct the girl in a Bolero pickup vehicle on Wednesday night.

    Following a complaint filed by the girl’s mother at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station, a team led by CPI Manjunath Lingareddy, including ASI Narayan, Head Constable Narayan, and staff member Akshaykumar, launched a rapid response. Within six hours, they apprehended the accused near Mavingundi in Siddapur and safely reunited the girl with her parents.

    District Superintendent of Police Deepan M.N commended the team for their efficient operation. A case has been registered at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station, and further investigations are underway to determine the motive and any additional involvement.

  • Bhatkal: Police Seize ₹50,000 Worth of Ganja, Two Accused fled

    Bhatkal, August 13, 2025 – Bhatkal City Police, led by PSI Naveen Naik, conducted a raid on August 12, 2025, at around 6:00 PM near Tenginagundi Cross on National Highway-66, seizing approximately 1.75 kg of ganja valued at ₹50,000. The police also confiscated a white Renault Kwid car, estimated to be worth ₹5 lakh, a digital weighing machine, and other items used in the illegal transport of the narcotic.

    The accused, identified as Sayyad Gulzar (22) and Sayyad Muktiyar, both from Kasarakod, Tonka, in Honnavar taluk, fled during the operation. A manhunt has been launched to apprehend the absconding suspects. A case has been registered at Bhatkal City Police Station, and further investigations are underway to trace the source and network behind the ganja trafficking.

  • Fugitive House Theft Accused Nagaraj Narayan Naik Arrested in Koppal

    Bhatkal, August 13, 2025: Bhatkal Rural Police have apprehended Nagaraj Narayan Naik, a resident of Raichur, currently residing in Byndoor, Udupi district, who had been absconding for four years in connection with a house theft case. The arrest was made in Karatagi, Koppal district, on August 13, 2025. Following his apprehension, Naik was produced before a court, which ordered his judicial custody.

    The operation was successfully executed by a police team, with Constables CHC 646 Arun Naik and CHC 292 Lokesh Naik being commended by the police department for their exemplary service in apprehending the accused.

    ಭಟ್ಕಳ, ಜೂನ್ 29, 2025: ಭಟ್ಕಳ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ವೆಂಕಟಾಪುರದ ಐಸ್ ಫ್ಯಾಕ್ಟರಿ ಮೀನಾ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಮುರಿದು ಒಳನುಗ್ಗಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಆರೋಪಿಯೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಗಸ್ತು ತಿರುಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಶಂಕಿತ ಚಲನವಲನ ಕಂಡು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿ ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

    ಬಂಧಿತ ಆರೋಪಿಯನ್ನು ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಆಕೀಫ್ ಮೊಹ್ಮದ್ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ಅಜೀಮ್ ಬುಡಾನ್ ಬಾಷಾ (19) ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈತನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಬೈಂದೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಗಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ವಿವಿಧ ಕಳ್ಳತನ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿವೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೈಂದೂರಿನ ಕಾರು ಕಳ್ಳತನ ಪ್ರಕರಣವೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಈತ ಬಂಧಿತನಾಗಿ ಕೇವಲ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದೆ.

    ಕಾರವಾರ, ಜೂನ್ 24, 2025: ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಾದಕ ದ್ರವ್ಯ ವಿರೋಧಿ ದಿನದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ವಿವಿಧ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾದಕ ದ್ರವ್ಯ ವ್ಯಸನದ ದುಷ್ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

    ಭಟ್ಕಳ: ಇಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆಯಿಂದ ಭಟ್ಕಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಭಾರೀ ಮಳೆಯಿಂದ ಜನಜೀವನ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಅಸ್ತವ್ಯಸ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಮುಂಗಾರಿನ ತೀವ್ರ ಮಳೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಹಲವು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಎತ್ತರದ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳು ಜಲಾವೃತಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ರಸ್ತೆಗಳು ನದಿಗಳಂತೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಹವಾಮಾನ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು ಜೂನ್ 14ರವರೆಗೆ ರೆಡ್ ಅಲರ್ಟ್ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಭಾರೀ ಮಳೆಯಾಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಮುನ್ಸೂಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.

    ಭಾರೀ ಮಳೆಯ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತವು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಭಟ್ಕಳ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ, ಜೂನ್ 13ರಂದು ರಜೆ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಷಕರಿಗೆ ಮಳೆಯ ತೀವ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಅನಗತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಲು ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.

    ಪ್ರಮುಖ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರು ಸಂಗ್ರಹವಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಸಂಚಾರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕುಂಠಿತವಾಗಿದೆ. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಶಂಸುದ್ದೀನ್ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ರಂಗೀನ್ ಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಸಮೀಪದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕೆಟ್ಟದಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಂಸುದ್ದೀನ್ ಸರ್ಕಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ರಸ್ತೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿದ್ದು, ರಂಗೀನ್ ಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಬಳಿಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರು ತುಂಬಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರು ತೀವ್ರ ತೊಂದರೆಗೊಳಗಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಲವು ವಾಹನಗಳು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಲುಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಕಾಲ್ನಡಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ.
