  • Udupi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind to Conduct Seerat Campaign from September 3 to 14

    Udupi, September 1, 2025 – Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Karnataka, has announced its annual Seerat Campaign, titled “Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Herald of Justice,” to be held from September 3 to 14, 2025, across the state. The campaign aims to share Prophet Muhammad’s timeless teachings, dispel misconceptions, and strengthen interfaith relations, according to Nisar Ahmed, president of JIH’s Udupi city branch, speaking at a press conference at Udupi Press Club.

    As part of the campaign, two new books published by Mangaluru’s Shanti Prakashan, highlighting the Prophet’s life and messages, will be released across Udupi district. The initiative includes social service activities like distributing fruits at hospitals, old-age homes, and orphanages on September 3, public meetings, seminars, essay competitions, and medical camps. A women’s discussion forum is scheduled for September 7 at Hotel Durga International in Udupi. These efforts align with JIH’s history of promoting peace and social welfare.

    The press conference was attended by campaign coordinator Farooq Manipal, welcome committee members Dalit leader Sundar Master, Raees Ahmed of Humanitarian Relief Society, Charles Angler of the District Minority Forum, and JIH Udupi women’s wing coordinator Wajida Tabassum.

  • New Shams School Joins CIO’s “Hands in Soil, Hearts with India” Mission Plantation Campaign

    Bhatkal, 12 July 2025: New Shams School in Bhatkal has enthusiastically partnered with the Children Islamic Organisation (CIO) for the “Hands in Soil, Hearts with India” Mission Plantation campaign, running from 13 to 31 July 2025. This initiative, part of CIO’s ambitious goal to engage one million children across India in planting and nurturing trees, aims to foster environmental consciousness and responsibility among the youth.

    The campaign kicked off with a press release on 10 July 2025 at New Shams School, where school officials outlined their commitment to the cause. “We are proud to join CIO’s Mission Plantation to inspire our students to become stewards of the environment,” said Principal of New Shams School. “There will be series of programs during this campaign starting from press conference. students will be visiting Government offices in upcoming days to create awareness, in addition to this we are planning eco-rally next week and appeal all the institutions to join hands in this campaign”

    Campaign Highlights

    • Eco Rally for Awareness: Students, teachers, and community members will participate in an Eco Rally to spread awareness about the importance of tree planting and environmental conservation.
    • Sapling Distribution: In collaboration with local government bodies, the school will distribute healthy saplings to students for planting in school premises, Masjids etc.
    • Selfie with a Sapling: Students are encouraged to take selfies with their planted saplings and share them on social media to inspire others, using hashtags promoted by CIO.
    • Green Warrior Award: The school will honor students who demonstrate exceptional dedication to nurturing their trees with the “Green Warrior Award,” celebrating their role as environmental champions.

    New Shams School will also organize engaging activities such as Green Pledge ceremonies, nature walks, and creative contests involving drawings, poetry, and storytelling to make the campaign educational and fun. Each student will be encouraged to name their tree and document their care journey, fostering a personal connection with nature.

    CIO’s inspiring slogans, including “Where every child plants a tree, a greener world will bloom!” and “A leaf shall smile – every day shall bring greenery!” will resonate across the school, motivating students to take pride in their contributions.

    The school has called upon parents, teachers, and the Bhatkal community to join this movement. “Let’s unite to make Bhatkal greener and healthier. Every tree planted by our children is a step toward a brighter future,” the principal added.
