Gangtok, August 22, 2025: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) took Chitradurga Congress MLA K.C. Veerendra Puppy into custody from a hotel in Gangtok, Sikkim, on Thursday night, August 21, 2025, in connection with an ongoing investigation into a money laundering racket linked to online gaming and betting operations. The action was carried out under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), with a special ED team tracking Puppy, who represents the Chitradurga Assembly constituency, according to official sources.
On Friday morning, August 22, 2025, the ED conducted coordinated raids at 30 locations across six states, including six premises in Chitradurga, ten in Bengaluru, three in Jodhpur, one in Hubballi, two in Mumbai, and eight in Goa. The searches targeted properties linked to Puppy, his brothers K.C. Nagaraja and K.C. Tippeswamy, and associates such as Kusuma Hanumantharayappa, Anil Gowda, and a hawala operator from Hubballi. The raids, including at Puppy’s residence near Veerabhadraswamy Temple in Challakere and an upscale apartment in Bengaluru’s Vasanth Nagar, resulted in the seizure of digital devices, financial records, documents, and one kilogram of gold.
Preliminary findings indicate that Puppy and his associates operated illegal betting websites, including King567, Raja567, Puppy’s003, and Rathna Gaming, and held stakes in five Goa casinos: Puppy’s Casino Gold, Ocean Rivers Casino, Puppy’s Casino Pride, Ocean 7 Casino, and Big Daddy Casino. These platforms are alleged to have facilitated suspicious money transfers and financial irregularities.
Pappy, who switched from JD(S) to Congress before the 2023 Assembly elections, previously faced scrutiny in 2016 when the Income Tax Department seized Rs 5.7 crore in new currency, 32 kilograms of gold, and Rs 90 lakh in old notes from his bathroom in Challakere.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಜುಲೈ 15, 2025: ಸಿನಿಮಾ ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಕೈಗೆಟಕುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ದರವನ್ನು ₹200ಕ್ಕೆ ಮಿತಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ಕರಡು ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಮಂಗಳವಾರ (ಜುಲೈ 15) ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವಿತ ನಿಯಮವು ಮಲ್ಟಿಪ್ಲೆಕ್ಸ್‌ಗಳ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನ್ವಯವಾಗಲಿದ್ದು, ಈ ದರವು ಮನರಂಜನಾ ತೆರಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಂದ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಣೆಗಳು
ಈ ಕರಡು ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯು ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಗೆಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಂಡ ದಿನಾಂಕದಿಂದ 15 ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಂದ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಣೆಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಸಲಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲಿದೆ. ಈ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಣೆಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಸಲಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ವಿಧಾನ ಸೌಧದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗೃಹ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅಪರ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು.
ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೀಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ: “ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಮಲ್ಟಿಪ್ಲೆಕ್ಸ್‌ಗಳ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ದರವು ಮನರಂಜನಾ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ₹200ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿರಬಾರದು.”
ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಜೆಟ್ ಭರವಸೆ
ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ದರವನ್ನು ಮಿತಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯು ಹಲವಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಚರ್ಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯನವರು ತಮ್ಮ 2025-26ರ ಬಜೆಟ್ ಭಾಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪವನ್ನು ಪುನರುಚ್ಚರಿಸಿ, ಮನರಂಜನೆಗೆ ಸಮಾನ ಪ್ರವೇಶವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸಲು ₹200ರ ದರದ ಮಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು.
ಇದು ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರದ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ದರವನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸುವ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವಲ್ಲ. ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು 2017-18ರ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕರೂಪದ ದರವನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ 2018ರಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸಿತ್ತು, ಆದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ತಡೆಯಾಜ್ಞೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಂಪಡೆಯಲಾಯಿತು.

ಈ ನಿಯಮ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರದ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ದರವನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸಿರುವ ತಮಿಳುನಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಆಂಧ್ರಪ್ರದೇಶದಂತಹ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳ ಸಾಲಿಗೆ ಸೇರಲಿದೆ.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಜುಲೈ 6, 2025: ಕೊರೊನಾ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಹೃದಯಾಘಾತದಿಂದ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಸಾವುಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ನೇಮಕಗೊಂಡ ಸಮಿತಿಯು ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ, ಧೂಮಪಾನ, ಕೊಲೆಸ್ಟ್ರಾಲ್ ಮಟ್ಟದಂತಹ ಜೀವನಶೈಲಿ ಅಂಶಗಳು ಹಠಾತ್ ಹೃದಯಾಘಾತಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವೆಂದು ಸಮಿತಿಯು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಯುವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಠಾತ್ ಹೃದಯ ಸಾವುಗಳಿಗೆ ದೃಢವಾದ ಗಮನಿಸುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯತಂತ್ರದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಮಿತಿ ಶಿಫಾರಸು ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
ಜುಲೈ 1 ರಂದು, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಜಯದೇವ ಹೃದಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಡಾ. ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ರವೀಂದ್ರನಾಥ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಸಮಿತಿಯನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಕೊರೊನಾ ಲಸಿಕೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಎನ್ನಲಾದ ಸಾವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿತ್ತು. 10 ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವರದಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವಂತೆ ಆದೇಶಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು ಜುಲೈ 5 ರಂದು ಈ ವರದಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
ಹಾಸನ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಇತರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವಕರ ಹಠಾತ್ ಹೃದಯಾಘಾತದ ಸಾವುಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊರೊನಾ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳು ವರದಿಮಾಡಿವೆ. ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಜುಲೈ 2 ರಂದು ಐಸಿಎಂಆರ್ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಗಳನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿ, ಕೊರೊನಾ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹೃದಯಾಘಾತಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿತು. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಆಕ್ರೋಶದಿಂದಾಗಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯನವರು ಡಾ. ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ರವೀಂದ್ರನಾಥ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಸಮಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಈ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಮಿತಿಯು ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವಕರ ಸಾವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೊರೊನಾ ಲಸಿಕೆಯ ಸಂಬಂಧವನ್ನು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಲು ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿತ್ತು.
ಸಮಿತಿಯ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಗಳು: ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 1 ರಿಂದ ಮೇ 31 ರವರೆಗೆ ಜಯದೇವ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಾದ 45 ವರ್ಷದೊಳಗಿನ 251 ರೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮಿತಿಯು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಿತು. ಈ ರೋಗಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಮಧುಮೇಹ, ಅಧಿಕ ರಕ್ತದೊತ್ತಡ, ಕೊಲೆಸ್ಟ್ರಾಲ್ ತೊಂದರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹೃದಯ ರೋಗದ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ, 77 ರೋಗಿಗಳು (26%) ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿ ಅಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. 251 ರೋಗಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ 19 ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕೊರೊನಾ ಸೋಂಕು ತಗಲಿತ್ತು, ಮತ್ತು 78% ರೋಗಿಗಳು ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಒಂದು ಡೋಸ್ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು.
2019 ರ ಜಯದೇವ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಪಿಎಸಿಎಡಿ (PCAD) ರಿಜಿಸ್ಟ್ರಿಯಿಂದ ಪೂರ್ವ-ಕೊರೊನಾ ಡೇಟಾವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, 40 ವರ್ಷದೊಳಗಿನ ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಡೇಟಾದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. 2019 ರಿಂದ 2025 ರವರೆಗೆ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿ ಅಂಶಗಳ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರಿಕೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದೆ. “2019 ರ ಪೂರ್ವ-ಕೊರೊನಾ ಡೇಟಾದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, 2025 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಧುಮೇಹ, ಅಧಿಕ ರಕ್ತದೊತ್ತಡ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಲೆಸ್ಟ್ರಾಲ್ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿವೆ. ಇದು ಸಾಂಕ್ರಾಮಿಕ-ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಜೀವನಶೈಲಿ ಅಡ್ಡಿಗಳಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಗಿರಬಹುದು,” ಎಂದು ವರದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಹಠಾತ್ ಹೃದಯ ಸಾವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಂದೇ ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲ, ಬದಲಿಗೆ ವರ್ತನೆ, ಆನುವಂಶಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಅಂಶಗಳ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣ ಸಂಯೋಗವೆಂದು ಸಮಿತಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ. ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲೀನ ಕೊರೊನಾದಿಂದ (ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು) ಹೃದಯಾಘಾತಗಳು ಉಂಟಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ವರದಿಯು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.
ಅಧ್ಯಯನದ ಕೊರತೆಗಳು: ಕೇವಲ 19 ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ (7.6%) ಕೊರೊನಾ ಸೋಂಕು ತಗಲಿತ್ತು, ಮತ್ತು ಬಹುತೇಕ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದು ಡೋಸ್ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು, ಇದರಿಂದ ಪೂರ್ವ-ಕೊರೊನಾ ಮತ್ತು ನಂತರದ ಗುಂಪುಗಳ ಹೋಲಿಕೆ ಕಷ್ಟಕರವಾಯಿತು. 26% ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿ ಅಂಶಗಳಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಉರಿಯುತ ಅಥವಾ ರಕ್ತಗಟ್ಟುವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ (ಕೊರೊನಾದಿಂದ ಅಥವಾ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿಲ್ಲದೆ) ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಕೊರೊನರಿ ಧಮನಿಯ ರೋಗ (CAD) ಹೆಚ್ಚಿರಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ವರದಿಯು ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.

ಶಿಫಾರಸುಗಳು: ಯುವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಠಾತ್ ಹೃದಯ ಸಾವುಗಳಿಗೆ ದೃಢವಾದ ಗಮನಿಸುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ. 15 ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಶಾಲಾ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೃದಯ ರೋಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ತಪಾಸಣೆ, ಜನ್ಮಜಾತ ರೋಗಗಳು, ಆನುವಂಶಿಕ ರೋಗಗಳು, ಊತ, ರಕ್ತದೊತ್ತಡ, ಕೊಲೆಸ್ಟ್ರಾಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ಸುಲಿನ್ ಪ್ರತಿರೋಧವನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಶಿಫಾರಸು ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೃದಯ ಸಾವು ರಿಜಿಸ್ಟ್ರಿ, ಅನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಸಾವುಗಳ ದಾಖಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶವಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ-ಆಧಾರಿತ ವರದಿಗಳ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ.
ಹೃದಯ ರೋಗಗಳ ಕಾರಣಗಳು, ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿ ಅಂಶಗಳು, ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಗುರುತಿಸುವಿಕೆ, ಆಹಾರ, ವ್ಯಾಯಾಮ, ಧೂಮಪಾನ ತ್ಯಜಿಸುವಿಕೆ, ಪರದೆ ಸಮಯ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡುವಿಕೆ, ಉಪ್ಪು-ಸಕ್ಕರೆ ಸೇವನೆ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡುವಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ನಿದ್ರೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಅಭಿಯಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಸಮಿತಿ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದೆ. ಐಸಿಎಂಆರ್‌ನಂತಹ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಂದ ಕೊರೊನಾ ಮತ್ತು ಲಸಿಕೆಯ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲೀನ ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳನ್ನು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಲು ದೊಡ್ಡ-ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಕ್ಲಿನಿಕಲ್ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

18 ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಶಾಸಕರ ಅಮಾನತಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಇಂದು ಸ್ಪೀಕರ್ ಯುಟಿ ಖಾದರ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ನಡೆದ ಸಂಧಾನ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಮಹತ್ವದ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪೀಕರ್ ಕುರ್ಚಿಗೆ ಅಗೌರವ ತೋರಿಸಿದ ಮತ್ತು ಮಸೂದೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಸೆದ ಆರೋಪದ ಮೇಲೆ 18 ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಶಾಸಕರನ್ನು ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಯಿಂದ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಅಮಾನತುಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದೀಗ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಶಾಸಕ ಅಮಾನತು ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹಿಂಪಡೆಯಲು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೀರ್ಮಾನವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಶಾಸಕರ ಅಮಾನತು ಆದೇಶವನ್ನ ಹಿಂಪಡೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಘಟನೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಶಾಸಕರು ವಿಷಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಿಪಕ್ಷ ನಾಯಕರು ಕೂಡ ನನಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಇನ್ಮುಂದೆ ಹೀಗಾಗದಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಾಗಿ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 18 ಶಾಸಕರನ್ನು ಅಮಾನತು ಮಾಡಿ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳಾಗಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಶಾಸಕರ ಅಮಾಮತು ಹಿಂಪಡೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಷರತ್ತು ಇಲ್ಲ, ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಿತ್ರರು. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದುರ್ನಡತೆ ತೋರಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಂಡೆ. ಕ್ರಮತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಪೀಕರ್ ಯು.ಟಿ.ಖಾದರ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Bengaluru, May 24, 2025: As the summer vacation concludes in Karnataka, the 2025-26 academic year is set to commence soon. The Department of School Education has directed all schools across the state to welcome students with an opening ceremony on May 29.
The department has instructed schools to begin the student enrollment process on the opening day and complete it by June 30. All teachers are required to participate in the opening ceremony and ensure that every child of the specified age group is enrolled. Schools must also ensure the smooth implementation of programs such as mid-day meals, Ksheerabhagya, and the distribution of textbooks and uniforms. Education officers have been directed to undertake intensive campaigns to boost enrollment numbers.
Educational institutions planning to grant holidays during Christmas must submit a request to the Deputy Directors, who will review and decide on the matter. Any holidays granted for Christmas should be adjusted by reducing the mid-term break in October. In cases of unexpected closures due to strikes, heavy rains, or other unforeseen reasons, schools are required to compensate by conducting classes on subsequent holidays. Further academic guidelines will be provided in the coming days. The Commissioner of the Department of School Education has issued a circular urging schools to prepare and implement an action plan accordingly.

Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ), an associate organization of Indian Cultural Center (ICC) under the aegis of the Embassy of India, Doha, Qatar as part of its Silver Jubilee Year celebrations, hosted the grand carnival “Belli Habba–Vasanthothsava”, themed ‘Idu Namma Karunada Jathre’. The celebration brought together thousands of Kannadigas across Qatar, who joined with family and friends to experience the spirit of Karnataka through culture, heritage, performances, and cuisine.
The venue, New Ideal Indian School ground, was designed to mirror the festive spirit of a traditional village fair, with the Silver Jubilee theme prominently reflected. The majestic entrance arch, named Salumarada Thimmakka Mahadhwara, symbolized the theme and set the tone for the event. Visitors were welcomed into an atmosphere that included food stalls, game booths, garments & fancy stores, a beautifully crafted stage, and culturally significant elements such as Tamate, Yakshagana headgear, a village home (Halliya Sogadu Anandada Beedu), a traditional shop, and buntings made of silver foil merged with Karnataka flags, and decorative lights —creating an immersive Karunada Jathre experience.

The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. KSQ Vice President Mr. Ramesh KS outlined the safety guidelines and introduced the Guest Emcee, Ms. Prathibha Gowda. KSQ President Mr. Ravi Shetty in his welcome address wished Vasanthothsava bring more enthusiasm and confidence to the members. Chief Guest Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, and Guest of Honour Mr. A.P. Manikantan were felicitated, and they lauded the efforts of Karnataka Sangha Qatar.
ICC Advisory Chairman Mr. Baburajan was honored for his continuous support. Former MC members—Mrs. Della Rego, Mrs. Nirmala Raghuraman, Mr. Guruprasad, and Mr. Ismail were also felicitated as they were not available during the Rajata Sambhrama. The CEO of Media Pen, Mr. Binu Kumar, artist Mr. Ajay, and the members, Mr. Prabhurajan, Mrs. Megha Karthik, and the ATS team, received tokens of appreciation for their support in organizing the event. The guest artists were felicitated as well.
The program continued with a vote of thanks by MC Member Mr. Bheemappa Khot, General Secretary Mr. Kumarswamy assisted Guest Emcee Ms. Prathibha Gowda, who conducted the event efficiently. Cultural troupes from Bunts Qatar and Billawas Qatar contributed dance performances choreographed by Shafeeq and Raj & Swetha, respectively. Additional dance performances came from Team 974 of Incas Qatar, Spotlight Stars Dance Studio, and Emote Edition Dance Studio.
A highlight of the evening was our neighboring country, Bahrain Kannada Sangha’s Yakshagana performance “Shoorpanaki Manabhanga”, directed by renowned artist Mr. Deepak Rao Pejawara. Despite the late hour, the performance was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.

ಮಾರ್ಚ್, ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾದ ಎಸ್‌ಎಸ್‌ಎಲ್‌ಸಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ 8,96,447 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಜರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. 15,881 ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು 2,818 ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
