  • BJP Leader Radhakrishnan Shot Dead in Kannur; Wife Mini Nambiar Arrested

    Kannur: In a shocking development, Mini Nambiar (42), wife of slain local BJP leader and auto driver K.K. Radhakrishnan (51), has been arrested by Pariyaram police in connection with his murder in a shooting incident at Kaithapram, Kannur. Mini, a former member of the BJP’s Kannur district committee, is accused of conspiring with the prime accused, Santhosh, to orchestrate her husband’s killing.

    Mini is the third accused in the case. Investigations revealed that she was in contact with Santhosh over the phone before and after the murder and assisted in concealing the firearm used in the crime. Mini, who contested the district panchayat elections in the last local body polls, is implicated in the shooting that took place on March 20, 2025, around 7:10 p.m. at an under-construction house in Kaithapram, where Radhakrishnan was gunned down.

    According to the FIR, the motive behind the murder stems from Radhakrishnan’s opposition to a friendship between Mini and Santhosh. The two were school classmates, and their relationship reportedly deepened over time. Radhakrishnan, objecting to this bond, had once physically assaulted his wife, which Santhosh cited as the provocation for the murder, according to his statement to the police.

    On March 20, Santhosh planned to attack Radhakrishnan. At 4:23 p.m., he posted a photo of himself holding a gun on Facebook with the caption, “The task is to hit the target. Certainly, I will.” Later, at 7:27 p.m., he shared another threatening post: “Didn’t I tell you? Didn’t I tell you not to harm my girl? I can bear losing my life, but my girl… I won’t forgive you.” That evening, Santhosh arrived at the under-construction house and shot Radhakrishnan. The bullet struck Radhakrishnan in the chest, killing him on the spot.

    Locals, alerted by the sound of the gunshot, rushed to the scene and informed the police. Santhosh, who remained at the location, was apprehended by the police. A member of a panchayat team trained to shoot wild boars, Santhosh is believed to have expertise in handling firearms. While the murder weapon has not yet been recovered, another individual, Sijo Jose, accused of supplying the gun to Santhosh, has also been arrested.

    Mini Nambiar has been remanded to judicial custody. The incident has sparked intense discussions in Kannur’s political circles.

    ಕೋಲಾರ: ಕೋಲಾರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮುಲ್ಬಾಗಲ್ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಪೂಜಾರಹಳ್ಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಆಘಾತಕಾರಿ ಘಟನೆಯೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ, 21 ವರ್ಷದ ಯುವಕನೊಬ್ಬ ಬೆಟ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಚಾಲೆಂಜ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಬಾಟಲಿ ಸಾರಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ನೀರು ಬೆರೆಸದೆ ಕುಡಿದು ಪ್ರಾಣ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.


    ಮೃತ ಯುವಕನನ್ನು ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್ (21) ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ಹಿಂದೆಯಷ್ಟೇ ವಿವಾಹವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್, ಗ್ರಾಮದ ವೆಂಕಟರೆಡ್ಡಿ, ಸುಬ್ರಮಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಮೂವರು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ 10,000 ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಬಹುಮಾನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಐದು ಬಾಟಲಿ ಸಾರಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ನೀರು ಬೆರೆಸದೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ಚಾಲೆಂಜ್ ಅನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ.


    ವೆಂಕಟರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್‌ಗೆ ಚಾಲೆಂಜ್ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದರೆ ಹಣ ನೀಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದ. ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಅಹಂಕಾರದಿಂದ ಚಾಲೆಂಜ್ ಅನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್, ಐದು ಬಾಟಲಿಗಳ ಸಾರಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ನೀರು ಬೆರೆಸದೆ ಕುಡಿದ. ಆದರೆ, ಸಾರಾಯಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಕೆಲವೇ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಹದಗೆಟ್ಟಿತು.
    ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ಗಂಭೀರತೆಯನ್ನು ಅರಿತ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್, ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರ ಬಳಿ ತನ್ನ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯುವಂತೆ ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡ. ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ಮುಲ್ಬಾಗಲ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯಲಾಯಿತಾದರೂ, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸದೆ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್ ದುರದೃಷ್ಟವಶಾತ್ ಮೃತ್ತಾಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ


    ಇಂತಹ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಶುದ್ಧ ಸಾರಾಯಿ ಸೇವನೆ ಮಾರಕವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್‌ನ ಸಹಚರರು ಈ ಬೆಟ್ಟಿಂಗ್‌ಗೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ಅವನ ಮರಣದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್‌ನ ಕುಟುಂಬವು ವೆಂಕಟರೆಡ್ಡಿ, ಸುಬ್ರಮಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ನಾಲ್ವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಂಗಲಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದೆ. ಪೊಲೀಸರು ವೆಂಕಟರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಬ್ರಮಣಿಯನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಉಳಿದ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಶೋಧ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.


    ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್‌ನ ಮರಣವು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ದುಃಖಕರವಾಗಿರುವುದು ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಿಂದ. ಕೇವಲ ಎಂಟು ದಿನಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಅವನ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿ ಪತ್ನಿ ತವರು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ಜನ್ಮ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಳು. 21 ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಮುನ್ನವೇ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್, ತನ್ನ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದೆ, ಸಾರಾಯಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜೂಜಿನ ಚಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಜೀವ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ


    ಈಗ, ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ್‌ನ ಕುಟುಂಬವು ತೀವ್ರ ದುಃಖದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಅವನ ಯುವ ಪತ್ನಿ ವಿಧವೆಯಾಗಿ, ಅವನ ಶಿಶು ತಂದೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಉಳಿದಿದೆ. ಈ ಹೃದಯವಿದ್ರಾವಕ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯು ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.

    ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ಆಹಾರ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸರಬರಾಜು ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ನಗರದ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಹಿಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗೋದಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸುಮಾರು 500 ಕ್ವಿಂಟಾಲ್ ಅಕ್ಕಿಯನ್ನು ಜಪ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

    ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಂದ ಬಂದ ದೂರುಗಳ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಉಪ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ ಅನಿತಾ ವಿ. ಮದ್ಲೂರ್ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.

    “ಅನುಪಮಾ ಎಂಟರ್‌ಪ್ರೈಸಸ್‌ಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಗೋದಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಸ್ಮತಿ, ಸೋನಾ ಮಸೂರಿ, ಜೀರಾ ರೈಸ್, ಮತ್ತು ಕುಸುಗು ಅಕ್ಕಿಯನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಬ್ರಾಂಡ್‌ಗಳ ಅಕ್ಕಿಯ ಚೀಲಗಳಿದ್ದವು. ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಯಾವುದೇ ಬ್ರಾಂಡಿಂಗ್ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಬಿಳಿ ಚೀಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಅಕ್ಕಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಇದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ವಿತರಣಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ (ಪಿಡಿಎಸ್) ಸೇರಿದ ಅಕ್ಕಿಯಾಗಿರಬಹುದು ಎಂಬ ಅನುಮಾನವನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕಿದೆ. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಕ್ಕಿಯ ಸ್ಟಾಕ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಜಪ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅಗತ್ಯ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯಡಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅನಿತಾ ವಿ. ಮದ್ಲೂರ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

    “ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಿಂದ ಅನ್ನ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಅಕ್ಕಿಯನ್ನು ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗಿಸಿ, ಹೊಳಪು ಮಾಡಿ, ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮರುಬ್ರಾಂಡಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ದೂರುಗಳೂ ಇವೆ. ಜಪ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅಕ್ಕಿಯ ಮಾದರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಯೋಗಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಗೋದಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಅಕ್ಕಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲು ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದ ಅನುಮತಿಗಳಿದ್ದವಿಯೇ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನೂ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

    ಲಕ್ನೋ: ಲಕ್ನೋ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಭಾಷಾಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕಿಯಾದ ಡಾ. ಮದ್ರಿ ಕಾಕೋಟಿ, ಆನ್‌ಲೈನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಡಾ. ಮೆಡುಸಾ’ ಎಂದು ಪರಿಚಿತರಾಗಿರುವವರು, ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಪಹಲ್ಗಾಮ್ ಉಗ್ರ ದಾಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಟೀಕಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ರಾಜದ್ರೋಹ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಆರೋಪಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

    ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 22, 2025 ರಂದು ಜಮ್ಮು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರದ ಪಹಲ್ಗಾಮ್‌ನ ಬೈಸರಾನ್ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಉಗ್ರರ ದಾಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 26 ಜನರು, ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವರು ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರು, ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು 17 ಜನರು ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ದಾಳಿಯ ನಂತರ ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ದಾಳಿಗೊಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸಿ ಡಾ. ಕಾಕೋಟಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಎಕ್ಸ್ ಖಾತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. “ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೇಳು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಭಾರತೀಯರು, ನೀವು ಮತ್ತು ನಾನು ಇದ್ದಂತೆ, ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರು. ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳು ಟಿಆರ್‌ಪಿ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದವು, ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಗಂಭೀರ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ದಾಳಿಯ ನಂತರ ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಗುರುತಿನ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲಿನ ತಾರತಮ್ಯ, ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿಕೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಮನೆಗಳ ಧ್ವಂಸವನ್ನು ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನೆಗೆ ಸಮನಾಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

    ಅಖಿಲ ಭಾರತೀಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಪರಿಷತ್ (ಎಬಿವಿಪಿ) ಸಂಘಟನೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ನಾಯಕ ಜತಿನ್ ಶುಕ್ಲಾ ಅವರ ದೂರಿನ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಹಸನ್‌ಗಂಜ್ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ. ಕಾಕೋಟಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಎಫ್‌ಐಆರ್ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಭಾರತೀಯ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಸಂಹಿತೆ (ಬಿಎನ್‌ಎಸ್) ಸೆಕ್ಷನ್ 152 (ರಾಜದ್ರೋಹ), 197(1) (ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಮಗ್ರತೆಗೆ ಹಾನಿಕಾರಕ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳು), 302 (ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಭಾವನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆ), 353(2) (ಕಿಡಿಗೇಡಿತನವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವುದು), ಮತ್ತು 196(1)(ಎ) (ಶತ್ರುತ್ವವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವುದು) ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಐಟಿ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ಕಲಂಗಳ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆರೋಪಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

    ಶುಕ್ಲಾ ತಮ್ಮ ದೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಡಾ. ಕಾಕೋಟಿ ಅವರು “ಸಫ್ರಾನ್ ಟೆರರ್” ಎಂಬ ಪದವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನದ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಖಾತೆ @PTI_Promotion ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದು ಗಲಭೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಬಹುದು ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಮಗ್ರತೆಗೆ ಹಾನಿಯನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಡಾ. ಕಾಕೋಟಿ ಅವರ 1,51,000ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಫಾಲೋವರ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಎಕ್ಸ್ ಖಾತೆಯು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ನೀತಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವ್ಯಂಗ್ಯಾತ್ಮಕ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.

    Mangaluru: Official details have emerged regarding the case of an unidentified body found in Kudupu, on the outskirts of Mangaluru, on Sunday. It has been revealed that a group of youths playing cricket brutally assaulted and killed a migrant worker.

    According to reports, the incident began when the victim arrived at the location where a cricket match was underway on Sunday. A verbal altercation reportedly took place between the victim and an individual named Sachin, who was playing cricket. During this confrontation, Sachin allegedly attacked the victim, and others present at the scene joined in, escalating the assault, as stated by the Police Commissioner.

    Approximately 30 individuals were involved in the incident, and so far, 15 have been arrested, according to the police.

    The arrested individuals have been identified as Sachin T (26), Devadas (50), Manjunath (32), Saideep (29), Nitesh Kumar alias Santosh (33), Deekshit Kumar (32), Sandeep (23), Vivian Alvares (41), Shridatta (32), Rahul (23), Pradeep Kumar (35), Manish Shetty (21), Dhanush (31), Deekshit (27), and Kishore Kumar (37). It has also come to light that the husband of a former BJP corporator was involved in the incident, and further investigation into this matter is underway, as confirmed by the Police Commissioner.

    What Happened?

    On April 27, around 5:30 PM, an unidentified body was discovered near the Bhatra Kallurti Daivasthana in Kudupu. Mangaluru Rural Police visited the site and conducted an inspection. As there were no visible severe injuries on the body, it was decided to perform a post-mortem examination.

    Findings from the Investigation

    According to the police investigation, a cricket tournament was taking place at a ground near Bhatra Kallurti Daivasthana around 3:00 PM on April 27. During this time, a group of individuals attacked an unidentified person with their hands and sticks. The victim was also kicked and trampled. Despite attempts by some to intervene, the assault continued, resulting in the victim’s death.

    What Does the Medical Report Say?

    The preliminary post-mortem report indicates that the victim suffered severe blows to the back, leading to internal bleeding and death due to shock. The lack of timely medical treatment also contributed to the fatality, as per the report.

    15 Arrested, Investigation Ongoing

    Based on a complaint filed by an individual named Deepak Kumar, the Mangaluru Rural Police have registered a case against 19 named individuals and others under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Currently, 15 suspects have been arrested, and the search for other individuals involved in the crime continues, according to the police. It is estimated that over 30 people participated in this heinous act.
