  • Kadaba: BCom Student Handwrites Entire Quran in Five Years, Sets Remarkable Record

    Kadaba, August 18, 2025: Fathima Sajla Ismail, a BCom student from Markazul Huda Women’s College in Kumbra, Kadaba taluk, has garnered widespread admiration for her extraordinary accomplishment of handwriting the entire Quran using a traditional ink pen. Hailing from Baitadka in Kaniyur village, Sajla, daughter of Ismail and Zahra Jasmine, dedicated nearly five years to this meticulous task, starting in January 2021 and completing it in August 2025.

    The 604-page manuscript, written on white, light blue, and light green paper with black ink, is bound in an elegant red and gold cover and weighs approximately 14 kg. Sajla shared that each page took around four hours to complete, with some days allowing her to write two pages in eight hours. In total, she spent 2,416 hours over 302 days to finish the work, demonstrating remarkable patience and discipline.

    The handwritten Quran was unveiled at a special ceremony at Markazul Huda Women’s College, Kumbra, on August 18, 2025. The manuscript was officially released by Yaseen Sakhafi Al Azhari, a Mudarris from Markaz Knowledge City, Kerala, in the presence of scholars and college officials. The family is considering applying for recognition in the Limca Book of Records and is in discussions with elders and scholars regarding the manuscript’s future preservation.

    Bhatkal, May 18, 2025: The Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of Udupi and Bhatkal successfully launched a 4-day Quranic Youth Camp at Green Paradise, Bhatkal, with a spirited start on May 16, 2025. The camp, concluding on May 19, 2025, has drawn enthusiastic participation from youth across the region, fostering Quranic understanding, moral growth, and spiritual development through a series of engaging activities.

    ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ: ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸಂತಿ ಬಸ್ತವಾಡ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಕುರಾನ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಇತರ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳನ್ನು ಅಪವಿತ್ರಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ಘಟನೆಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಮೇ 16, 2025 ರಂದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಹಲವೆಡೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.

    ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶಾಲ ರ‍್ಯಾಲಿಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ರ‍್ಯಾಲಿಗಳು ಹುಕ್ಕೇರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಕೆಲವು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಡೆದವು. ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಮಸೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಶೆಲ್ಫ್‌ನಿಂದ ಅಪರಿಚಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಕುರಾನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಹದೀಸ್ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳನ್ನು ಕದ್ದು, ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರು ದೂರಿದರು.

    ಕಿತ್ತೂರ್ ರಾಣಿ ಚನ್ನಮ್ಮ ವೃತ್ತದ ಬಳಿಯ ಅಂಜುಮನ್ ಮೈದಾನದ ಎದುರು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಜನರು ಜಮಾಯಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ‘ನಾರಾ ತಕ್ದೀರ್, ಅಲ್ಲಾಹು ಅಕ್ಬರ್’, ‘ಇಸ್ಲಾಂ ಜಿಂದಾಬಾದ್’ ಎಂಬ ಘೋಷಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಗಿದರು. ಅವರು ಬಾವುಟಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಲಕಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದರು. ತಪ್ಪಿತಸ್ಥರಿಗೆ ಕಠಿಣ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸುವಂತೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.

    ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಗೆ ಸಂಘರ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳu ಸ್ವಯಂಪ್ರೇರಿತವಾಗಿ ಅಂಗಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿದರು. ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ನಮಾಜ್ ಬಳಿಕ ಜನಸಂದಣಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ವೃತ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಎರಡು ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ರಸ್ತೆ ಸಂಚಾರ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಂಡಿತು.

    ಶಾಸಕ ಆಸಿಫ್ ಸೇಠ್, ಯುವ ನಾಯಕ ಅಮಾನ್ ಸೇಠ್, ನಗರಸಭೆಯ ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಜಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಶೀಘ್ರ ಬಂಧಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.

    ಶ್ರೀ ಸೇಠ್ ಅವರು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳ ಕಳವು ಮತ್ತು ಸುಡುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸಿ, ತಕ್ಷಣದ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು. “ಆಗಿರುವುದು ಕ್ಷಮಾರ್ಹವಲ್ಲ. ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತರು ಒಂದು ವಾರದೊಳಗೆ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಗಡುವು ಕೋರಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಅದೇ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಈದ್ಗಾಹ್ ಅಪವಿತ್ರಗೊಂಡ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಬ್ಯುಸಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಈಗ ಆ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಬಗೆಹರಿಸಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

    ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ವಹಿಸಿದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಅಮಾನತುಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಶಾಂತಿ ಕಾಪಾಡಲು ಮತ್ತು ಪೊಲೀಸರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಲು ಅವರು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

    ಮುಂಜಾಗ್ರತಾ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ, ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಐಡಾ ಮಾರ್ಟಿನ್ ಮಾರ್ಬನಿಯಾಂಗ್ ಅವರು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಷೇಧಾಜ್ಞೆ ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರಿಗೆ ಶಾಂತಿಯುತ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ನಡೆಸುವಂತೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಕೋರಿದ್ದರು. ಸುಮಾರು 3,000 ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು ಎಂದು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಕೆಲವು ಯುವ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರು ಕೆಲವು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಕಾನ್ಸ್‌ಟೇಬಲ್‌ಗಳು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳಿದ ಆರೋಪದ ಮೇಲೆ ವಾಗ್ವಾದಕ್ಕಿಳಿದಾಗ ರ‍್ಯಾಲಿಯು ಕೆಲ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾಯಿತು. ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡ ಯುವಕರನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಾನಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

    ಹುಕ್ಕೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 11 ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದವು. ತಪ್ಪಿತಸ್ಥರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಇಂತಹ ಘಟನೆಗಳು ಮರುಕಳಿಸದಂತೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.
